We were originally introduced to sea moss at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic after hearing an episode on the ExpidiTIously podcast with Sebi's Daughters. We started doing more research on this and this quickly led to an entire lifestyle change for us! This is where our vegan wellness journey began. Now we're so excited to share with you all of the benefits of sea moss and how it has helped our family!
What Is Sea Moss?
Sea moss is also known as irish moss. It is a type of red algae that grows year round and has been known to be part of the human diet for thousands of years!
It is most commonly known for containing 92 of the 102 minerals that your body needs. It contains iodine, zinc, potassium, and B12.
This is a superfood and has become very popular, especially with the vegan community.
How Sea Moss Has Helped Our Family
While everyone's experience with sea moss is different, and we always recommend speaking with your doctor prior to starting anything new in your diet, especially if you are experiencing any medical issues we want to share how sea moss has helped our family.
Yuri had been on blood pressure medicine after years of high blood pressure, including a trip to the ER where his BP was well over the normal range. Since taking sea moss, in addition to a healthier plant based lifestyle he is no longer on medication and his blood pressure is back to normal!
Our middle child, Cam has childhood asthma and had been to the ER more times than this momma can even count! After many episodes of wheezing, steroids to help with his breathing, I thought this was just going to be the normal. Fortunately, since changing the way our children eat, along with taking sea moss daily, he has not had any more wheezing episodes!
This has also made a tremendous difference in our energy and daily activities!
